Cookie policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to store information about your session, preferences or activity. This policy explains what cookies Roko uses, for what purpose, and how to control them.
2. Types of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the site to function. They cannot be disabled. Without them, we could not provide services you request (for example, keeping you logged in or remembering your shopping cart).
- Clerk session: authentication and user session. Required for login and dashboard.
- Shopping cart: stores products you've added to your cart. Lives in browser localStorage.
- Language preference: remembers whether you prefer the site in English or Spanish.
2.2 Functional
Improve your experience by remembering preferences. You can disable them but some functions may stop working.
- UI theme: dark mode (default).
2.3 Third-party
Payment processing and authentication services may place their own cookies when you interact with them:
- Stripe: when starting checkout, Stripe places cookies to detect fraud and complete payment. See Stripe's cookie policy.
- Clerk: authentication provider. See Clerk's privacy policy.
3. How to control cookies
You can manage cookies in three ways:
- Consent banner: on your first visit to Roko, you can accept, reject or customize.
- Browser settings: all browsers allow you to disable cookies or delete them. This may affect site functionality.
- Reset preferences: you can clear your cookie preferences at any time by deleting site data in your browser settings.
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy. The last update date will always appear at the top of this page.
